Niche is an important word that often makes the rounds in blogging and social media circles. Merriam Webster Dictionary offers:“the situation in which a business’s products or services can succeed by being sold to a particular kind or group of people” as one of its definitions for the word niche. In blogging and online communities this means maintaining a blog, website, forum etc. on a particular topic or theme so as to appeal to a specific audience. For better or worse, Bubblews is not set up to cater to a specific niche. It is an open platform that is designed to allow its members to try and appeal to the general public.

Since niche is an an important word in online writing and social communities, I am interested in how people pronounce it. I’ve heard some pronounce it and it rhymes with words such as itch and stitch. I’ve also heard people pronounce it and it rhymes with words such quiche or leash. Lastly, I’ve heard people say niche and it rhymes with word leetch. Right or wrong, I’m sure there are other pronunciations as well. I think people pronounce it is largely based on where they live.

How do you pronounce the word niche? Feel free, but not obligated to share some of the factors, such as you general geographical location, that could potentially explain your pronunciation of this word.

Originally published on Bubblews in part on July 19, 2014 and in part on July 24, 2014.

The part that was published on July 19, 2014 vanished without explanation from Bubblews on either August 1, 2014 or August 2, 2014. I deleted the part was published on July 24, 2014,  because many of my other Bubbles vanished without explanation from Bubblews on August 1, 2014 and August 2, 2014. Other than a non-informational auto-reply, Arvind and his Bubblews support team did not acknowledge my inquiries that I directed to them about this disappearance.

Note 1: This piece did not make the front page of Bubblews. There once was a time, when a bubble on the front page of Bubblews seemed to earn more money than a bubble that was not on the front page of Bubblews. To the best of my knowledge none of the Bubbles that I blew made the front page of Bubblews.

Gentle readers, let me ask all of you this question. Is Bubblews a scam or legit site?
