There is dark side to Bubblews giving bubblers the ability to freely delete comments from their bubbles with no oversight.

If you write in public places, particularly if you get paid for penning your words, I believe the public has a right to comment on your written material. I have no issues with writers wanting to delete spam and comments that go beyond the scope of what is acceptable. However, I have seen writers on other platforms that delete comments simply, because they didn’t agree with the opinions that people expressed. This left behind a written trail that did accurately represent the discussion.

Further, some writers choose to write derogatory, vulgar and hateful opinion pieces. I believe it is an awful mistake to allow such writers the ability to pick and choose which comments remain associated with their posts. I agree that writers should be able to have the ability to flag comments for review. This would permit a neutral third party person to make the correct determination of whether a particular comment violates any of the site’s terms of service. Unfortunately, this does make managing the site more labor intensive. At this point, I believe that it is the only viable solution to the problem.

Those that choose to write in the kitchen should be able to take the heat. For those cooks that cannot tolerate the warmth of a respectful debate, perhaps they should find a another line of work or a different form of recreation.

Originally published on Bubblews on July 17, 2014. However, it vanished without explanation from Bubblews on either August 1, 2014 or August 2, 2014. Other than a non-informational auto-reply, Arvind and his Bubblews support team did not acknowledge my inquiries that I directed to them about this disappearance.

Note 1: This piece did not make the front page of Bubblews. There once was a time, when a bubble on the front page of Bubblews seemed to earn more money than a bubble that was not on the front page of Bubblews. To the best of my knowledge none of the Bubbles that I blew made the front page of Bubblews.

Note 2: This post initially referenced a bubble written by someone else. However, that piece is no longer accessible on the site. Therefore, I edited that reference out of this version.

Gentle readers, let me ask all of you this question. Is Bubblews a scam or legit site?
