Today I learned via an email from Vincent Summers that my fellow writer and friend Dan Reveal has recently passed away. Apparently, he came across the thread in the Y!CN (Yahoo! Contributor Network) forum that Dan’s friend, Crystal Ray had started.
Through the years, Dan touched many people with his profound creative writing and poetry. Dan and I communicated on a fairly regular basis and I was always impressed with his good nature, his sense of right and wrong and his never ending quest to describe in the written word the many emotions and feelings that people experience. He always seemed to put a special emphasis on love, the greatest gift of them all.
Dan and I were also linked in this weird moment: Strange Times at Associated Content which is an updated version of this piece Strange Times Associated Content that appeared on the Y!CN (Yahoo! Contributor Network).
There was a time when I actively was interviewing my fellow online writers and friends on Y!CN (Yahoo! Contributor Network). I really should get back in the habit of interviewing people and helping them tell their story. Fortunately, I had the smarts to
interview Dan Reveal and capture his thoughts.
In preparation for writing this tribute to Dan Reveal, I came across this video that Charles Hunter posted on youtube on May 14, 2013. The caption reads: “
The Woman That I Need” by Dan Reveal and it is a video of a person singing and playing the piano.

I confirmed that the title and the lyrics do in fact match with Dan Reveal’s written work: “The Woman That I Need.” If this is really Dan Reveal playing the piano and singing out loud about the woman on a satin pillow, I feel honored to see Dan putting sound to his breath and playing music for my ear.
FullofKnowledge is fortunate to have a few of Dan’s pieces in its library. You can find these select pieces here:
Dan Reveal on FullofKnowledge. However, the bulk of Dan’s online writing library resides on the Yahoo! Contributor Network.
Dan Reveal, I feel blessed that you shared your umbrella and took a walk with me. My prayers are with you and your family. May your soul rest in peace and know that to me you are the true Piano Man.
Edited to add some heart felt sentiments from your friend Crystal Ray: “I met Dan Reveal shortly after he began submitting his beautiful poems and articles to what was once known as Associated Content. I was very impressed by his ability to paint beautiful pictures with words, and I was even more impressed by his ability to write songs, sing and play the piano. He became one of my best friends. I have never known someone who was more concerned with the feelings of others than Dan Reveal. He was truly an angel on earth. He touched many souls with his kindness as well as his poetry and music. He made a difference in my life, and he will be greatly missed by many. Instead of saying goodbye to Dan, I chose to say, “so long.”
Note 1: The Yahoo! Contributor Network is defunct. Therefore, Dan’s work is not available from that extinct source.
Note 2: Though I’m sure it was important at the time, I no longer can recall why I chose to say “so long” as opposed “goodbye.”
