According to the AC company blog, March 1, 2010 marked the day that Associated Content hit two million published submissions. It happened when veteran Contributor Sherry Wight published, Dancing with the Stars 2010 Lineup Review: Is Evan Lyacek the DWTS Season 10 Favorite? This is quite an accomplishment given that the company was conceived just over five years ago, a fact that was learned by many when Luke Beatty, President and Co-Founder of Associated Content took his anniversary message to the blog just a month ago.

In his announcement, Mr. Beatty reminisced about how he quit his job to pursue a vision that he had. He thanked Leonardo De La Rocha, Co-Founder of AC for also quitting his job and daring to act on this dream with him. He referenced a Contributor named Steve who on February 1, 2005 lit the torch when he published the first piece of content on the site. It can be found here: Managing Diabetes. Mr. Beatty also recognized, Jeff Gedgaud, Emma S, A Hermitt, Timothy Sexton and Crystal Ray. These are several of the tried and true Contributors that took hold of the lit torch. Together they embarked on an adventure. As they ran, other Contributors joined them on their journey. People from all around the world have laid their hands upon this torch and as more people touch it the brighter it becomes. Today this torch of content is over two million pieces strong. It contains material that can be read, watched and heard all over the world.

The Olympics occur every four years with a grand opening ceremony. However, as sure as is there is an opening ceremony, there too will be a closing ceremony that will sadly snuff out the Olympic Torch. Fortunately, it appears that the Associated Content ceremony is not going to close any time soon. Mr. Beatty, Mr. Keane, CEO of Associated Content and the entire Associated Content staff seem determined to make this torch of content shine like none other in the history of online media.

Don’t just believe this written word. After you read this announcement, please take note of the comments that hopefully will be written in response to this announcement. These will consist mostly of words of other contributors that are proud to be among the collective torch bearers of this company. As long they have your attention, sample some of their pieces of content. If you feel the warmth of the torch, please visit. Associated Content. There you will be directed to links that will allow you among other things to sign up and publish your own content, partner with AC or advertise on Associated Content. (See Note 1).

Note 1: Associated was purchased by Yahoo! Contributor Network. Ultimately, Yahoo closed this business down.
